Fake iPods and iPhones seized. Total scam worth $10 million.


report is stating that a $10 million scam involving the selling of fake iPods, iPhones and other accessessories has been caught and shut down. They would ship parts from China to be reassembled here as a way to sneak the product in undetected. Here’s a breakdown of the worth:
During searches of the locations, Port Police discovered counterfeit products with an estimated street value of more than $1.4 million; stolen electronics, toys and blankets worth about $2.5 million; and bank account receipts that indicate the operation generated more than $7 million in profits.
The police were tipped by a stolen cargo investigation which eventually led to the arrests.
